Unavailable against Austin
Jeong (quad) is ruled out for Saturday's clash against Austin.
Analysis: Jeong has been unable to shake the quad concern that had added him to the injury report this matchday, confirming his absence and leaving St. Louis short of creative options in midfield heading into the weekend. The South Korean has contributed one goal and one assist as a creative presence in their midfield this season, and his unavailability forces the coaching staff to find a new solution on the right flank.
Picks up injury
Jeong is listed as questionable moving forward with a quad injury, per the MLS Player Status Report.
Analysis: Jeong has been in and out of the injury report this season and returns this matchday with a quad concern. He's been a creative presence in St. Louis's midfield and a player with legitimate value when healthy and starting, so his questionable status is worth monitoring before Saturday. He's a starter when fit, so the club will hope for Sergio Cordova (hamstring) to be fit if Jeong is out, or else they will have to find a new solution on the right flank.
Provides assist in tie
Jeong assisted once to go with two shots (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus D.C. United.
Analysis: Jeong set up Chris Durkin's opener in the 50th minute and finished with two shots (none on target) and two chances created, marking a new season high for him. He was largely kept in check by D.C.'s full-backs, managing just two completed dribbles while struggling to find pockets of space against a home side that stayed compact and defended deep. That said, the Korean winger is starting to build momentum with one goal and one assist across his last three appearances (three starts) and looks locked in as a regular starter for St. Louis City.
Nets only goal
Jeong scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Saturday's 1-0 victory versus Colorado Rapids.
Analysis: Jeong scored the only goal of the game in the 26th minute, assisted by Simon Becher. Jeong completed seven passes and won five ground duels. He has started three of his six appearances this campaign, and this was his first goal contribution.
Starts Saturday
Jeong (undisclosed) is in the starting lineup for Saturday's match against Colorado Rapids.
Analysis: Jeong is fully fit after dealing with a small injury, but his inclusion from kickoff is rather surprising given that he had recorded only 96 minutes of league action since March. His presence means Eduard Lowen will move back to a substitute role for this game. The fit-again player has struggled to get directly involved in his team's goals throughout the last couple of seasons and will need to show more of his offensive skills to retain a major role going forward.
Set to miss short period
Jeong is ruled out for Saturday's clash with San Jose Earthquakes with an injury that coach Yoann Damet doesn't expect to be serious, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Jeong could be back soon, but he's usually a depth option so he's not expected to see plenty of action in the near future. Instead, Eduard Lowen, Marcel Hartel and Sergio Cordova should remain active in attacking spots. Jeong has yet to score or assist over 155 minutes of play in the 2026 MLS season.
